Though I played tennis regularly in high school and college, I did not purchase this grip for a racket. I actually bought it for a little sword-like machete I have. The machete has a rubberized grip, but I felt the handle was a bit too small and unfortunately it was also rubbing off & leaving black smudges on my hands. Covering it with this Head Super Comp has made a world of difference. The grip now fills my hand a bit better and is much more secure, comfortable, and clean. Having two tapes left over in the package, I recently decided to put them on my pair of Indian clubs (google that—they’re a cool old-timey weight training device for wrist/arm/shoulder). The clubs are solid hardwood with a smooth varnish, and just holding onto them was tiring out my hands and fingers before I was able to finish a good arm workout. Again this grip tape made all the difference, and I can hold them in one place much easier without straining. The Super Comp is on the thin side (“more touch” as the packaging says) which is fine by me as it’s still a really nice upgrade for tools that don’t otherwise require an overgrip. One-handed tools like knife handles are not as long as a tennis grip so you can overlap this tape more to get a little extra cushion anyway. And you don’t necessarily want too much cushion if you need precise control—thicker tennis tapes, as well as hockey and bat tapes, are made for hard swinging comfort and are probably overkill for less athletic purposes. My favorite thing about this particular tape, though, is the feel. I’m not a fan of tacky grips and this is not tacky. I think it’s just right: grip it tightly and it locks in, let off and it’s smooth enough to change your grip with ease. It always feels dry, too—but again, I’m not playing a game of tennis with it so I can’t really speak to how it holds up to long-term sweating.Overgrip is my preferred way to cover handles. It uses a single piece of tape at the top to finish it off securely and doesn’t use adhesive on the tape itself. I’ve used adhesive tape grip that got very sticky in hot sun. No bueno. Get this stuff; it’s made for hands.Overall highly recommended for enhancing any precision grip: swords, knives, machetes, hand tools, whatever you’ve got. I’m sure it’s great for tennis rackets too.

Got this from PNC Sports at Amazon Market place. The price was good and order was shipped quickly and received email notification. As far as the grip, I bought it for my son’s tennis racket. This was easy to put on, there are no instructions but plenty of you tube instruction videos available. The grip feels good and my son likes it. The included tape with “Head” marking looks good but didn’t stick well. I just use some electrical tape to secure it. We now have 2 extra :)I’d definitely recommend this product.

I recently purchased a cane and I found the handle too slippery and cold. I had previously wrapped my walker with a different brand and I thought I’d like to try something different. So, I ordered Head and was not disappointed. It went on easily. I didn’t do the best job of wrapping initially, but by using some hand pressure, I was able to squeeze the tape to where it better gripped itself. It’s darn near perfect now. Now my cane is much more secure in my hand. It’s warm to the touch and does it’s job very well. Buy some. It way even work on tennis rackets…

I’ll start off by saying I am definitely not a top rated tennis player, I would barely qualify as a competitive tennis player. This over grip has the nicest feel to any I have used, just the right combination of grip and comfort. The product was easy to install, but this is true of nearly every over grip, wrap around handle and secure. The securing band has been in place for about a month now, used every day that it doesn’t rain for maybe a total of 20 to 25 hours, and is still holding strong, the over grip itself it showing only slight wear. Some people have complained that this gets slippery when your hands get sweaty, I have not noticed this and the grip has been consistent for me from the time I start playing until the time I stop. Every once in a while someone else will play with one of my rackets and everyone who ever has eventually asks about the grip, they are always surprised to find out it is one of the cheaper products available and I have started noticing this product wrapped around more and more of my friends rackets, even those who don’t use a head racket.

I actually used one as a thickener for a pickleball paddle grip which worked really well and then one I put on my tennis racket. It was a really solid grip that helped me keep my racket in my hand and made me feel more in control. The sweat absorption was pretty decent as it got more than it used to but once in a while I still had to while my hands off. Overall really great grips either for use as a grip or as a thickener grip, especially for the price.

This over-grip completely transformed my game. I can hold the racket better and because of it sweat absorbent material, my hand does not slip. Very easy to apply. The instructions on written on the back are not very helpful so I recommend watching a tutorial on youtube. Good luck.

Someone had a really nice racket but the grip fell apart on them. Was happy to give it away to buy a new one. These replacement grips were very inexpensive and worked perfectly. Racket is like new now and have been using it for a while. Grip really holds well and is comfortable in the hand. An update to the originals.
